On Friday 19th Feb Imogen played in front of a sold out crowd at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

During the show Imogen recorded a live improvised piece of music, where the key, tempo and time signature were chosen by the audience 30 seconds before she started. ”The Shepherdess” is what the audience heard.

All the proceeds from sales of “The Shepherdess” are going to Great Ormond Street hospital in London who helped save Imogen’s leg when she was just 12 months old.

In true Imogen style, the artwork for the download was crowd-sourced from fans who attended the show. If the download is deemed a success for the charity Imogen hopes to perform a live improvisation at every show on her upcoming North American tour, donating the proceeds of downloads to a charity in each city.

Imogen Heap wins a Grammy Award!

We’d like to wish Replenish client Imogen Heap congratulations for her Grammy win last night!

Imogen took home the Grammy for “Best Engineered Album, Non Classical” for her latest album “Ellipse” which she produced and engineered herself, making her the first female artist in Grammy history to win this award!

Not to be outdone by 2007’s outfit which featured lilly pads and a toy frog, this year Imogen’s ‘Twitdress’ included an LED necklace which displayed a live Twitter feed showing fan’s messages, and a transparent handbag complete with an embedded iPhone displaying Twitpic photos that fans sent to her via Twitter.

Replenish were on hand assisting Imogen on the night. From here in the UK we tested the Twitter and Twitpic photo feed shortly before Imogen took to the red carpet and then proceeded to spend the night moderating all of the content sent to Imogen’s necklace and handbag to avoid any potential offending messages.

The ‘Twitdress’ went down a storm with the music and tech press alike – the perfect accompaniment to a Grammy award!

Check out some great photos of Imogen on the red carpet and receiving her award at Socialite Life.

Imogen Heap charts at #5 on the Billboard Top 200!

We’re delighted to report that after a lot of very hard work by everyone involved, long-time Replenish client Imogen Heap is finally getting the recognition she deserves with her new album ‘Ellipse’ debuting at #5 on the Billboard Top 200!

The album (which you can listen now) also came in at #1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic album chart, #1 on the Billboard Internet album chart, #2 on the Billboard Digital album chart, #3 on the Billboard Alternative album chart, #4 on the Billboard Rock album chart, #4 on the Canadian album chart, and #39 on the UK Top 40 album chart!

Here’s what Music Week had to say:

“Leading the Brit pack, singer/songwriter Imogen Heap’s second album Ellipse sold 48,000 copies to debut at number five, comprehensively beating the number 145 peak of her 2005 debut, Speak For Yourself. Despite its modest chart place, Speak For Yourself was nominated for a pair of Grammy awards and saw several of its songs used on popular TV shows, helping it to eventually achieve sales of 431,000 copies, while its most successful track, Hide And Seek, fell short of the Hot 100 but has sold more than 685,000 copies on download.

The digital format is also much favoured by buyers of Ellipse, accounting for 29,000 of the album’s sales last week. That is enough for it to debut at number two on the digital albums chart. It goes one better on the Electronic/Dance chart, where it debuts at number one. Introductory single First Train Home saw a 161% spike in sales after Heap performed it on David Letterman’s show and enters the Top 200 digital songs list at number 197, with sales of 7,500 increasing its overall tally to 43,000.”

Much has been said about our efforts with Imogen’s online campaign, and we’re chuffed to see that it’s paid off for her!
