Rogue States release debut single ‘Lights’ on 8th March

A band shaped by experience, classic pop and restless minds, Rogue States arrive uniquely accomplished; a breakthrough act with a debut EP fit to rival any “third album classic” you care to mention. The Birmingham four piece (David Wright, Michael Clarke, Steve Clarke, Stuart Baxter Wilkinson) supported Razorlight on their March 2009 UK tour, forming a close friendship with then drummer Andy Burrows in particular who subsequently paid for the recording of the band’s debut EP.

A quietly monumental collection of extremes: tenderly intimate and shudderingly epic, a calming respite and rousing call to arms, the lonely ache of doubt and the surging joy of a crowd pleasing anthem. From the lightness of Surrender’s questioning to the reinvigorating groundswell of Lights; from Faultline’s powerful whisper to Kings Of The Ghost Town Mile’s rallying cry.

The Lights EP will be available worldwide from iTunes on 8th March 2010.

We’re delighted to report that after a lot of very hard work by everyone involved, long-time Replenish client Imogen Heap is finally getting the recognition she deserves with her new album ‘Ellipse’ debuting at #5 on the Billboard Top 200!

The album (which you can listen now) also came in at #1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic album chart, #1 on the Billboard Internet album chart, #2 on the Billboard Digital album chart, #3 on the Billboard Alternative album chart, #4 on the Billboard Rock album chart, #4 on the Canadian album chart, and #39 on the UK Top 40 album chart!

Here’s what Music Week had to say:

“Leading the Brit pack, singer/songwriter Imogen Heap’s second album Ellipse sold 48,000 copies to debut at number five, comprehensively beating the number 145 peak of her 2005 debut, Speak For Yourself. Despite its modest chart place, Speak For Yourself was nominated for a pair of Grammy awards and saw several of its songs used on popular TV shows, helping it to eventually achieve sales of 431,000 copies, while its most successful track, Hide And Seek, fell short of the Hot 100 but has sold more than 685,000 copies on download.

The digital format is also much favoured by buyers of Ellipse, accounting for 29,000 of the album’s sales last week. That is enough for it to debut at number two on the digital albums chart. It goes one better on the Electronic/Dance chart, where it debuts at number one. Introductory single First Train Home saw a 161% spike in sales after Heap performed it on David Letterman’s show and enters the Top 200 digital songs list at number 197, with sales of 7,500 increasing its overall tally to 43,000.”

Much has been said about our efforts with Imogen’s online campaign, and we’re chuffed to see that it’s paid off for her!
